Dating back to 1793, Trianco has always been known as the 'Rolls-Royce’ of boilers. The brand can trace its origins back to the Industrial Revolution and the foundation of Newton Chambers. The firm had grown out of coal mining and iron founding into a major group of diverse operational companies.

By the 1850s, it was making coal fire ranges at Thorncliffe near Sheffield. Fireplaces, back boilers and free-standing heating stoves followed, and, in 1873, the company was awarded the royal warrant to Queen Victoria. One of the lines of the Foundry Division of Newton Chambers & Co. was Redfyre Products which developed rapidly after the Second World War, particularly with its continuous burning range of fires.
Sales efforts were focused through British Coal and local authorities and the product range developed from open fires to inset room heaters. Having diversified into oil boilers and then gas boilers, the company refocused distribution arrangements into the builders’ merchant trade and concentrated on building brand loyalty among installers of central heating equipment.
In 2000, Trianco diversified into manufacturing electric boilers with their introduction of the Aztec range; and, in 2010, a management buyout led to TR Engineering taking the Trianco name to the next level. Focus switched from the traditional Trianco product lines to electric and renewable energy with the introduction of the Activair heat pump range. The Aztec electric heating and Activair heat pump ranges have developed into the comprehensive range of heating solutions available today.
